Hi, I’m Andrea Otley. I’m a horse crazy wife and mom of three from a small ranching town in southeastern Oregon. My passion is training and showing reined cow horses, but I love all disciples of horse riding. Horses heal my soul and time stops when I’m at the barn.
I’ve struggled with sugar, food cravings and not being able to get the weight off for as long as I can remember. I tried and failed at many diets. Sometimes I would lose the weight, but it would always come back on.

I desperately wanted to lose the weight, keep it off and FEEL NORMAL! I wanted to feel full and satisfied. I wanted the sugar and food cravings to go away. I wanted a life where I didn’t obsess about food. I wondered what it would be like to live as a skinny person does. I wanted to look and feel great in my clothes. I wanted energy, to easily burn fat off my body and KEEP IT OFF FOR GOOD!!!
No matter how hard I tried, every dieting attempt failed. I was gaining weight instead of losing it. My jeans were too tight, I hated my tummy rolls and how my butt looked clumpy and fat in the mirror. The sugar and food cravings were unbearable. I felt like a crazy person. I felt embarrassed, like a failure, like there must be something wrong with me. I knew it shouldn’t be this hard. I wasn’t meant to live like this. There must be a better way.
Then, in mid-December 2017, I stumbled across an Instagram ad that caught my attention. A woman who had struggled with the same issues, having to exercise more but wasn’t keeping the weight off found a new way to eat. She was burning fat for fuel while having more energy than she’d ever had in her entire life. This is exactly what I was looking for!
I learned why I was getting fatter even though I was exercising more. I learned why all the diets in the past had failed. I learned it really WASN’T me. It was dieting myths I’d swallowed, hook, line and sinker
I shifted my metabolism to become a fat burning machine. The weight came off quickly. The food cravings vanished. I felt alive and energetic, no more brain fog or lethargy. The muscles I’d worked so hard for in the gym started to pop. The stack of jeans hiding in my closet began to fit. I felt on top of the world - confident, empowered, accomplished, like myself, like I knew I was meant to feel.
Consequently, my life seemed to start going my way. Everything began to change. I had the best year ever, showing my horses. I enjoyed my barn time even more because I had the energy to ride. I was in a better mood. My kids and husband definitely appreciated that part!
I finally found what I was looking for - a lifestyle of eating that I could stick to. A simple, easy way that lets me stay thin, without hours in the gym, without constantly obsessing about meal planning and food prep. A way that allows me to eat the foods I love including chocolate and beer. A way that makes me feel confident in my own skin and lets me love how I look on my horse. And most importantly, lets me take my attention off weight loss and on to living my passion and dream of training and showing reined cow horses.
